Question
Is it acceptable for a person to do ‘Umrah before doing the obligatory Hajj?
Answer
Praise be to Allah.
“Yes, it is permissible for a person to do ‘Umrah before he does Hajj. Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and his Companions did ‘Umrah before they did the obligatory Hajj.
And Allah is the Source of strength. May Allah send blessings and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and Companions.” (Standing Committee for Academic Research and Issuing Fatwas: Shaykh ‘Abd al-‘Aziz ibn ‘Abd-Allah ibn Baz, Shaykh ‘Abd al-Razzaq ‘Afifi, Shaykh ‘Abd-Allah ibn Ghadyyan, Shaykh ‘Abd-Allah ibn Qa’ud)
